Welcome to Institute for Professional Learning (IPL)
The Institute for Professional Learning (IPL) is a not for profit organization dedicated to serving quality education needs in a rapidly changing global, regional and national environment. The focus of IPL is on integrating contemporary learning approaches and contextually appropriate pedagogical practices with care and accountability. Rationale: Quality Teachers are the primary conduits for quality education as well as agents of social reform and responsible citizenship. In spite of 1.4 million teachers in Pakistan, the country continues to face acute teacher shortages at all levels of the sector. There is a major dearth of teachers actively engaged in quality learning for social transformation and sustainable development. The achievement of EFA and Millennium Development Goals is a major challenge, especially without teachers who are critical thinkers and enablers of learning amidst challenges of democracy, regional/global peace, environmental change and sustainability. The establishment of the Institute for Professional Learning (IPL) is a response to such tall challenges through a comprehensive teacher education program.
Mission Statement

To pursue excellence in the areas of teacher and leadership education and all relevant specialized fields encompassing research, ideas and professional practice. IPL shall pursue its work through inclusive and non discriminatory values.

In India, one man's fast brought millions onto the streets and the government to its knees -- winning real action to end corruption. For months, Greek citizens relentlessly protested unfair cuts to public spending. In Spain, thousands of "indignados" defied a ban on pre-election demonstrations and mounted a protest camp in Sol square to speak out against political corruption and the government's handling of the economic crisis. And this summer across Israel, people have built "tent cities" to protest against the rising costs of housing and for social justice.......
