Aman Ki Asha An initiative for Peace
IPL and ITA participated in an event of great exclusivity, organized by Jang Group, and Times of India under the ‘aman ki asha’ campaign. The event was basically based on two activities of distinctive nature. One was to hand over the torch of XIX Commonwealth Games, Queen's Baton Relay, to host nation India in a glaring and sparkling ceremony at Wagha Border on Friday early morning. The next most enthralling and beguiling activity was the ‘hankies for Peace’ activity. It was a great idea to demonstrate peace on a piece of cloth. Children across India and Pakistan did their piece for peace.

School kids and IPL-Participants very keenly took part in the activity. The students wrote their messages of peace on handkerchiefs, which when joined together formed the peace chain.

The active, vigorous and energetic participation of people on both sides is a testimony to the fact that peace is our first priority and it is not a privilege but every ones right, this peace chain could run through the country, across borders and into the minds and hearts of the new generation in both nations. |
